Mike Mears

Mike is passionate about leading others in the wilderness and creating experiences that have a lasting impact. He has been exploring and leading people throughout Southern Appalachia for over 10 years and never ceases to be amazed by his surroundings. Mike is an expert backpacker, a naturalist, and is a certified Wilderness First Responder. He and his wife Kari and their dog Dallas live in Cumming, GA.
Scott Sugar
River Guide
Scott is an avid outdoorsman with a heart for conservation. He has a B.S. in Physical Geography from Appalachian State University. Previously he was a raft guide on the Nolichucky, Ocoee, Watauga, and Hiawassee rivers. When he's not on the river he's probably out hiking, climbing, playing with his dog, or playing his guitar.
George Virgo
Guide
George is truly at home in the wilderness. With a degree in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University, he takes great pleasure in leading others and handing down skills to new outdoor enthusiasts. He has spent much of the last decade exploring the southeast and brings a ton of experience as an outdoor instructor. Oh yeah, he can also be found at Alpharetta Outfitters (he’s the general manager).
