More FAQ
What should I wear?
We highly recommend that you wear synthetic materials, preferably a moisture-wicking material. Please avoid cotton clothing, including jeans. Layering is recommended for day trips in colder months. Rain jackets are always recommended just in case. Hiking boots are required for backpacking trips. Hiking shoes or running shoes are suitable for day hikes. An active sandal (i.e. Chaco, Teva) or water shoe are recommend for paddling trips.
What kind of food is provided on your trips?
We provide lunches and snacks on all of our day trips. Typically, lunch is a variety of gourmet sandwiches, chips, fruit, and something sweet. Water and sports drink mixes are provided as well. The Summer Eco-Adventures and Weekend backpacking trips provide three prepared meals/day as well as snacks. Water is micro-filtered/purified from flowing water sources in the backcountry. Please inform us of any dietary requirements and/or food allergies on your registration form.
Do you lead trips for youth groups, companies, or other large groups?
Typically, we do not. As a LNT Guide Partner, we keep our groups small in an effort to minimize our impact while in the wilderness. Additionally, smaller groups allow us to create a more tailored experience.
Do you provide transportation?
While we do provide transportation for our Summer Eco-Adventures and Weekend Backpacking trips, we ask that you plan on your own transportation for our day trips to hike or paddle. This allows families/friends on the trip to leave from the trail/river and head home as opposed to having to return to Alpharetta Outfitters. If you cannot drive (i.e. no transportation or not old enough), or prefer not to drive just let us know. Anyone is welcome to ride along with our guides.
